Our liability for cargo transportation is strictly governed by the standard Carmack Amendment principles and specific contractual overrides. We're committed to the highest safety ratings, yet it's vital to recognize the scope of transit risks.
We'll assume responsibility for direct loss only when proven as a result of our gross negligence. Freight forwarding involves complex hand-offs; we simplify the responsibility chain for your peace of mind.
2. Warehousing Insurance
Warehoused goods at NORMAN PARK GIN & WAREHOUSE, INC. are stored under the assumption of customer-provided insurance unless specifically agreed upon in writing. We provide the facility; you provide the peace of mind. Why risk under-insurance when we can facilitate comprehensive transit-to-storage coverage?
3. Payment & Demurrage
Invoices are due net 30 days. Late payments trigger standard carrier liens. Demurrage and detention fees apply when loading/unloading exceeds the 2-hour free window. We don't like hidden fees any more than you do; let's keep the trucks moving.
Route Optimization
Specific routes are at the carrier's discretion unless premium transit is booked.
